Letitia Wright

Biography:

Letitia Michelle Wright is a Guyanese-British actress who was born on October 31, 1993. Her career started with cameos in the TV shows Black Mirror, Top Boy, Coming Up, Chasing Shadows, Humans, and Doctor Who. She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for the latter. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) recognized Wright as one of the 2015 BAFTA Breakthrough Brits for her performance in the 2015 movie Urban Hymn.

She earned a SAG Award and an NAACP Image Award in 2018 for her performance as Shuri in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie Black Panther, which brought her international prominence. Wright returned to the role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019). She was given the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2019. She was nominated for a Satellite Award for her role in Steve McQueen’s 2020 anthology series Small Ax.
