G.K.Vishnu

Biography:

G.K.Vishnu was a self-taught technician who studied engineering and worked in interface design. His interest in light led him to try his hand at photography. This piqued my interest in filmmaking. His early association with the director Atlee gave him a foothold in the Tamil film business. He began assisting DOP Richard Nathan, then the illustrious PS Vinod. His meticulous attention to detail, colour and frame selection, and general workmanship earned him multiple awards and, more importantly, gave him the chance to launch his cinematography career with Mersal (2017). It is a Tamil film that features many well-known actors and musicians, from actor Vijay to composer AR Rahman to director Atlee. The 2019 film Bigil is one of his next major endeavours, and it provides him the possibility of pairing up with Vijay once more. His release in 2021 will feature Krack.
