Byron Gibson, hailing from Cambridge, England, is an accomplished English actor and stunt performer. Before delving into the entertainment industry, he had a diverse background, including stints as a construction worker, street market trader, Thai boxing coach, and professional fight promoter.
Notably, he pioneered Muay Thai shows in Cambridge during the 1990s, collaborating with former wrestling star Steve Logan to establish the sport in the area. He even ran a Thai boxing school that produced three Professional Muay Thai Champions.
Byron made his foray into the film world in 2008, initiated by Jean-Claude Van Damme, who cast him as a gangster in “The Eagle Path,” also known as “Full Love.” In “The Hangover Part 2,” he played a role as a stunt performer in a bar fight during flashback scenes involving a young Bradley Cooper. His image from this sequence was featured in the film’s end credits montage.
One of his noteworthy appearances was in the movie “Only God Forgives,” directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, where he took part in a controversial torture scene. Interestingly, Nicolas liked Byron’s name so much that he decided to name a character in the film after him instead of the originally intended ‘Dimitri.’
Throughout his career, Byron has collaborated with esteemed directors such as Jerome Salle and John Woo. Recently, he starred in projects like “Brutal” and “A Taste of Violence,” alongside Parkour legend David Belle.
