Biography:

Indian playback singer and composer Bijibal Maniyil is mostly involved in Malayalam cinema. Over the course of a career spanning over two decades, he has composed music for over 150 feature films, numerous television commercials, and a handful of documentaries.In 2012, he was awarded the National Film Award for his work on the film “KALIYACHAN”.

In 2007, Bijibal made his feature film debut as a composer with Lal Jose’s satirical drama Arabikatha.

For the movie Kaliyachan, he received the Kerala State Film Award and the National Film Award for Best Background Score. In addition, he composed music for a number of Malayalam albums that aren’t movies, such Vasco Da Gama. In addition to directing and scoring the short film Sundari, he is a frequent composer for short films.

Additionally, he wrote the music that is still played for the Kochi Metro trains’ door-opening and door-closing alert systems.

Arabikatha, Pathemari, Loudspeaker, Munnariyippu, 101 Chodyangal, Vellimoonga, Balyakalasakhi, Maheshinte Prathikaaram, Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, and Rakshadhikari are a few of the well-known feature films for which Bijibal has created music. Among these are Baiju Oppu, Aby, Android Kunjappan Version 5.25, Thankam, Carbon and Vellam: The Essential Drink.

While attending St. Albert’s academic in Ernakulam for his academic education, Bijibal began writing. He was married to Santhi, a professional dancer. After a brief courtship and long before Bijibal had made his cinematic debut, they were married on June 21, 2002. Their two kids are named Daya and Devadutt. Santhi, a postgraduate student studying Bharatanatyam and conducting research in Mohiniyattam, passed away on August 29, 2017, at the age of 36, following a stroke. Devadutt and Daya, their children, sang songs for movies. Daya gained further notoriety for her performance in the Onam Vannallo music video, which was created as a part of the Onam celebration in 2014.
