Rajiv Menon

Biography:

Rajiv Menon, born on April 20, 1963, is an accomplished Indian filmmaker who has made significant contributions as both a director and cinematographer in various Indian regional film industries. He gained prominence in his cinematography career with the 1994 drama “Bombay,” directed by Mani Ratnam. Menon continued his successful collaboration with Ratnam on other projects, including “Guru” (2007) and “Kadal” (2013).

In addition to his work as a cinematographer, Menon has directed two highly acclaimed Tamil films: “Minsara Kanavu” (1997) and “Kandukondain Kandukondain” (2000). His directorial efforts earned him recognition, including a Filmfare Award for the latter.

After a period of taking a break from filmmaking, Menon returned to directing with the film “Sarvam Thaala Mayam.” Beyond his film career, he is a prominent figure in Indian advertising as a director. He manages Rajiv Menon Productions and also established the Mindscreen Film Institute, which provides equipment for documentaries, advertising films, and cinema production.
