CBFC demanded two cuts before passing the movie. First, there should be a disclaimer before the film starts that informs viewers that it is a work of fiction and in no way attempts to disrespect any religious beliefs. Second, the word ‘Veedi’ is wrongly translated as ‘Veedi’ in dialogue and subtitle and must be changed to ‘Devudu’. Also for a certain scene there should be a title card ‘2898 AD’ in order to set the viewer into the future environment.
The trailer of the film was released earlier this month and presents a sci-fi adaptation of the Mahabharata, in the city of Kaashi. It revolves around its protagonist Saswata Chatterjee, a king who fears a prophecy of the arrival of an heir who will dethrone him.
