After 36 long years, Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam have teamed up again for a film titled Thug Life, which is set to release in June.
The first song from the film, Jinguchaa, was launched today at an event where both Kamal and Mani Ratnam praised each other. Mani Ratnam said working with Kamal is stress-free because he takes care of everything and thanked him for the opportunity to work together again after so many years.
Kamal Haasan said that it’s the audience who brought them back together. He called cinema a democratic art and expressed happiness in being part of such a big project.
Thug Life is being jointly produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies and Red Giant Movies. AR Rahman is composing the music, and Simbu plays a key role.
The teaser has already created a strong buzz. The audio launch is set for May 16 at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.
