Aamir Khan, who has always wanted to bring the Mahabharat to the big screen, recently confirmed he will start working on it this year.
Speaking to a Reporter, he revealed that the project will be produced under his own banner and will be made on a large scale in multiple parts, similar to The Lord of the Rings series.
Aamir said the writing will take a few years, and it’s too early to talk about casting. He hasn’t yet decided if he will act in the film, saying the roles will be cast based on who suits them best.
Given the scale, he also hinted at involving multiple directors.
After the underperformance of Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022, Aamir took a short break. His next release is Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna and starring Genelia Deshmukh, set to hit theatres on June 20th.
