Indian screenwriter Syam Pushkaran was born on September 6, 1984, and is employed in Malayalam movies. His partnerships with directors Aashiq Abu and Dileesh Pothan are well-known. His breakthrough film was Salt N’ Pepper (2011), which he co-wrote with Dileesh Nair. Popular movies like Maheshinte Prathikaaram (2016), Mayaanadhi (2017), Idukki Gold (2013), Iyobinte Pusthakam (2014), Rani Padmini (2015), 22 Female Kottayam (2012), Da Thadiya (2012), Kumbalangi Nights (2019) and Joji (2021) are just a few of the films for which he has written screenplays. In addition, he penned the dialogue and co-directed Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum (2017). At the 64th National Film Awards (2016), Pushkaran took home the National Film Award for Best Screenplay for Maheshinte Prathikaram. Since 2012, he has been wed to Unnimaya Prasad.
Salt N’ Pepper was co-written by Syam Pushkaran and Dileesh Nair. Along with Dileesh Nair and Abhilash S Kumar, he authored the script for Da Thadiya (2012), another film directed by Aashiq Abu. Sethulakshmi (Segment) in the Sundarikal anthology film was written by him. Idukki Gold (2012), another film directed by Aashiq Abu, was also written by him.
