Srirastu Subhamastu

Story:

“Srirastu Subhamastu” is a romantic comedy film released in 2016, directed by Parasuram and produced by Allu Aravind under the Geetha Arts banner. The main cast includes Allu Sirish and Lavanya Tripathi, with supporting roles played by Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, Tanikella Bharani, Subbaraju, Sumalatha, and Ali. Hamsa Nandini makes a special appearance in an item song. The film received a range of reviews, from mixed to positive, upon its release.

Plot

Sirish develops feelings for Ananya, aka Anu. To win her heart, he adopts a commoner guise and fabricates a story about losing his purse. He convinces Anu to assist him in reclaiming his identity, highlighting how she intervened when he confronted some troublemakers. Eventually, Anu’s friend discovers Sirish’s missing purse in his backpack. Sirish then discloses his true wealthy background and reveals that his father, Krishna Mohan, set a condition: if Anu falls in love with him without knowing his wealth, they will marry; otherwise, he’ll wed a girl chosen by his father.

Anu eventually falls for Sirish, but her father suggests that her godparents wish her to marry their son, Arun. To avoid hurting their feelings, Anu agrees to this arrangement. Determined to win Anu back, Sirish, with the help of ShyamSundar, a marriage broker, visits Anu’s village home. During this visit, Sirish encourages Anu to confess her feelings and choose to marry him.

However, Anu’s father learns of Sirish’s love and questions whether his family can genuinely care for Anu. Sirish realizes that even if he marries Anu, she might be treated as an outsider, similar to his sister-in-law. Concerned, Sirish informs his father about the conversation with Anu’s dad. Sirish’s father then talks to Anu’s father, revealing Sirish’s true identity and assuring that he has changed his mindset. He promises to treat his daughters-in-law as his own daughters from now on. The film concludes with the joyous marriage of Sirish and Anu.
