The film features an ensemble cast, including Suriya, Bhumika, and Jyothika, with supporting roles played by Shriya Sharma, Sukanya, Vadivelu, and Santhanam. A. R. Rahman composed the film’s score and soundtrack, featuring lyrics by the renowned Indian poet Vaali. Cinematography was handled by R. D. Rajasekhar, and Anthony was responsible for editing.
The movie was initially titled “Jillunu Oru Kadhal” but was later changed to “Sillunu Oru Kadhal” to give it a pure-Tamil name. It hit theaters on 8 September 2006, just three days before the wedding of Suriya and Jyothika, adding a special touch to the film’s release.
In 2015, “Sillunu Oru Kaadhal” was remade into Marathi as “Tu Hi Re,” starring Swapnil Joshi, Sai Tamhankar, and Tejaswini Pandit, directed by Sanjay Jadhav. The film explores themes of love and romance, delivering a breezy and emotional narrative that resonates with audiences.
