Project Hail Mary

Story:

Project Hail Mary is a science fiction story about Ryland Grace, a middle school science teacher who wakes up on a ship without any idea who he is or what he is doing. Piece by piece, he recollects that he was sent on a special mission into space to learn more about the microorganism that eats the energy of the Sun and threatens humanity with its existence. Grace needs to use all his skills and imagination to finish the mission which cannot be completed by anyone else.

While solving the mystery of his mission, he makes an amazing and unusual discovery. He finds himself a partner for his journey – an intelligent extraterrestrial from another solar system. The man and the alien work together despite the difference in language, culture, and scientific achievements to save both worlds from the disaster. Friendship becomes the most important element of the movie and shows the power of collaboration.
