Amy Pascal is an American corporate businesswoman and film producer who was born on March 25, 1958. From 2006 to 2015, she was the co-chairperson of Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), which included Sony Pictures Television, and the chairwoman of the Motion Pictures Group of SPE. She served as co-chairperson during the 2014 Sony Pictures hack and has managed the creation and release of numerous motion pictures and television shows. Pascal was found to have sent several racist emails, including racial jokes directed at then-President Barack Obama, as a result of the leak. Pascal later acknowledged that she was sacked from Sony after she left the firm.
Pascal founded Pascal Pictures, a production business that debuted with the 2016 Ghostbusters revival. She produced The Post, Molly’s Game, and Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017. Her productions of The Post and Little Women have earned her two Academy Award nods for Best Picture, while Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has earned her a nomination for Best Animated Feature.
