Theatre“North 24 Kaatham” is a 2013 Indian Malayalam adventure drama film directed by debutant Anil Radhakrishnan Menon. Starring Fahadh Faasil, Nedumudi Venu, and Swathi Reddy, the movie follows the journey of a geeky software architect named Harikrishnan, who struggles with Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD). His colleagues plan to send him to Trivandrum for a webinar, but his journey takes an unexpected turn when he meets Gopalan, a politician, and Narayani, a social worker, on a train ride disrupted by a harthal.
When Gopalan’s wife falls seriously ill, they decide to return to Kozhikode, and Hari decides to follow them. Throughout the journey, Hari is pushed out of his comfort zone, challenging his routine and hygiene standards. However, he learns valuable lessons about life and compassion from Nani, who is carefree and helpful. As the journey progresses, Hari gradually overcomes his OCPD and falls in love with Nani.
The film, released on 15 September 2013, received critical acclaim and won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam. It is considered a defining movie of the Malayalam New Wave, showcasing compelling storytelling and character development.
