TheatreThe upcoming Indian Malayalam-language historical fantasy thriller Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer is written by R. Ramanand and directed and edited by Rojin Thomas. The narrative follows the life of Kadamattathu Kathanar, a fabled Christian priest with magical abilities from the ninth century. Prabhu Deva, Anushka Shetty (making her Malayalam debut), and Jayasurya play the title roles in the movie. Gokulam Gopalan of Sree Gokulam Movies produced it.
The movie is supposed to be the first of two parts. In April 2023, principal photography got underway. In a specially constructed studio, the movie was filmed using virtual production technology.
