TheatreGolmaal: Fun Unlimited is a Hindi comedy film helmed by Rohit Shetty, penned by Neeraj Vora, and produced by Dhilin Mehta under Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Limited along with Parag Sanghvi of K Sera Sera Private Limited, and distributed by AA Films.
The first film in the Golmaal series, it features Ajay Devgn, Tusshar Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, and Sharman Joshi, alongside Rimi Sen and Paresh Rawal. Released on 14 July 2006, the plot centers on four runaway crooks who hide in a bungalow owned by a blind couple, and it has gained a status as a modern cult film.
Golmaal is inspired by Mihir Bhuta’s Gujarati play Aflatoon, itself based on Harsh Shivsharan’s Marathi play Ghar Ghar, which was also adapted into the 2001 Malayalam film Kakkakuyil. The movie received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics upon release and was a commercial success, earning ₹41.25 crore globally on a ₹15 crore budget.
