Sudhir K. Chaudhary is a cinematographer who began his career with the 2009 Tamil comedy “Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru” and transitioned to Bollywood with Luv Ranjan’s directorial debut “Pyaar Ka Punchnama” in 2011. He has frequently collaborated with Luv Ranjan and actors Kartik Aaryan and Nushrat Bharucha on several films, including “Akaash Vaani” (2013), “Kaanchi” (2014), “Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2” (2015), “Guest iin London” (2017), “Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety” (2018), “Section 375” (2019), and “Ujda Chaman” (2019). Based in New Delhi and Mumbai, Chaudhary is known for his work on the gritty “Section 375” and the acclaimed “Blurr,” for which he won the Cinematography Art Award for Best Cinematography in 2023.
A gold medalist in Motion Picture Photography from the MGR Government Film and TV Institute of Tamilnadu, India, Chaudhary is also a member of the Western Indian Cinematographers Association in Mumbai. He has collaborated with directors such as Rajkumar Gupta, Abhishek Pathak, Ajay Bahl, Subhash Ghai, Pradeep Sarkar, Ashvani Dheer, Akiv Ali, Vijay Maurya, Aarti S. Bagdi, Vivek Daschaudhary, Ashwin Shetty, Amit Singh, Harshil Patel, Roman Jirnih, Howard Rosemeyer, and Vijay Lalvani.
Chaudhary’s commercial work includes projects for Suzuki Access 125, Hero Motocorp, Bisleri Fonzo, Colgate, ICICI Bank, Policy Bazaar, Mumbai Police, Vego Air Cooler, Royzez.com, Indian Idol, and ARTIS Audio. His other feature films include “Drishyam 2,” “Sangeen,” “Ujda Chaman,” “De De Pyaar De,” He also lensed the short film “Khamakha,” which won the Filmfare Award for Best Short Film. His upcoming film is “Raid 2,” directed by Rajkumar Gupta.
