Jen Martin is an independent artist, vocalist, producer, and composer of Indian film music who delves into the sounds and cultures that inform music. His main areas of employment include the Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu film industries. Jen graduated from SRM University with a bachelor’s degree in nanotechnology.
She was born in Pondicherry, India. Stephen Devassy of the Muzik Lounge School of Audio Technology taught him sound engineering. He signed a record deal with Think Music in 2020 as a “Think Indie” musician. His first big break as an artist came from his indie music video “Pottum Pogattume,” which starred Arjun Das and Lavanya Tripati.
Over 60 short films and four web series have had music composed by Jen Martin; his total work has received over 100 million views on YouTube, with Eruma Saani and Black Sheep being the main streamers. He has collaborated with Madhan Karky and Vishal Chandrasekhar in addition to performing for Vijay Antony, Yuvan Shankar Raja, and Hip Hop Tamizha. In addition, he has participated in a number of stage plays.
“Dada” (2023), directed by Ganesh K Babu and starring Kavin & Aparna Das, was Jen Martin’s first feature film as a music director. It was a huge hit and helped to establish him in the Tamil cinema business.
