Reddy play supporting parts in the movie, which stars Dr. Rajashekar and Jeevitha. It was a box office success and a significant turning point in Rajasekhar’s career. Three Nandi Awards went to the movie.
The 1990 Kannada and Hindi remakes of Pratibandh and Abhimanyu, starring Chiranjeevi and V. Ravichandran, respectively, were directed by Ravi Raja Pinisetty.
After learning that an assassin named Neelakantam (Rami Reddy) has been hired to kill his former mentor-turned-CM Master Raghuviah (M. S. Reddy), Vijay (Dr. Rajasekhar), an honest police officer, sets out to foil Neelakantam’s schemes.
