Story:

Anek is a Hindi-language action thriller written and directed by Anubhav Sinha, who also co-produced the film with T-Series. The movie stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Andrea Kevichüsa, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, and J. D. Chakravarthy. The music, composed by Anurag Saikia, is owned by T-Series. Released in cinemas worldwide on May 27, 2022, Anek follows a police official working undercover in Northeast India to negotiate a peace deal between the government and separatist groups seeking independence.

The plot focuses on Joshua, who navigates the conflict-ridden region, aiming to secure a peace accord with the largest militant group’s leader, Tiger Sangha. Joshua infiltrates the separatist group by befriending Aido, a fierce boxer and daughter of a group member. Despite facing racism, Aido dreams of winning a gold medal for India to be fully accepted as Indian. The story explores Joshua’s challenging mission to unite the country, questioning the essence of being Indian amidst division.

Netflix acquired the digital streaming rights, and the film began streaming on June 26, 2022.
