Mangesh Dhakde, who was raised in Nagpur by a family of classical musicians, undoubtedly began learning to sing before he could even speak. Notes would eventually become his default form of expression. As a result, he began writing music alongside his father at a very young age.
He enrolled in the Film and Television Institute of India in 2002 and studied sound engineering and international cinema there for four years. His approach to the usage of music for the movies underwent a complete transformation during these priceless years of intense immersion in the visual arts.
After relocating to Mumbai in 2006, he was quickly asked to write the music for a number of feature films. Some of these films went on to become successful and were hailed for their clever and moving background music.
In addition to having a strong foundation in Indian classical music (Patiala Gharana) and being enriched by the diverse musical influences he was exposed to as a child, such as jazz, Western classical, and Brazilian music, Mangesh Dhakde has been constantly searching for new sounds and styles, experimenting with unusual pairings of genres and instruments, which has led to the creation of unusual and potent compositions.
