Theatre“Amaravathi” is a 2009 Indian Telugu-language thriller film written and directed by Ravi Babu. Starring Sneha, Bhumika Chawla, and Ravi Babu in lead roles, with Sindhura Gadde and Taraka Ratna in supporting roles, the film was released on 3 December 2009, receiving positive reviews. It is a remake of the 2002 South Korean film “H.”
The plot unfolds with the friendship between Sreenu, the son of a maid servant, and Amaravathi, the landlord’s daughter. However, Sreenu’s feelings for Amaravathi take a dark turn, leading to tragic consequences. After being left for dead, Sreenu is saved by a hypnotist, who restores his life and teaches him hypnosis.
In the present day, a series of crimes involve a sadistic perpetrator stealing babies from pregnant women. Task force officer Venkat, returning from a sabbatical, unravels the mystery. The culprit is revealed to be Sreenu, who, after discovering his past, turns to hypnotism. Seeking revenge and Amaravathi’s love, Sreenu uses hypnotic studies, leading to a series of brutal crimes.
Sreenu escapes prison, and Venkat realizes that the crimes were committed by the hypnotized task force. Amaravathi desires ten children, and Sreenu kidnaps babies for her. The climax sees a confrontation between Venkat and Sreenu, resulting in Sreenu’s death and the rescue of the kidnapped babies.
The film ends with Venkat ensuring the babies are returned to their mothers, highlighting the impact of Sreenu and Amaravathi’s disturbed desires on innocent lives.
