The planned Tamil-language biographical war drama film Amaran, which translates to “The Immortal,” is being directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and produced by Sony Pictures Films India and Raaj Kamal Films International.
In addition to Sai Pallavi, Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, Lallu, Shreekumar, Shyam Mohan, Ajaey Naga Raaman, Mir Salman, and Gaurav Venkatesh, Sivakarthikeyan plays Major Mukund Varadarajan in the movie. Based on Mukund Varadarajan, it is an adaption of the book series India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Millitary by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh.
Since it’s his 21st feature film as the lead actor, the movie was first formally announced in January 2022 under the working title Sivakarthikeyan 21, and the official title was revealed in February 2024. The main photography started in May 2023 and was conducted intermittently in Kashmir and Chennai.
It was then completed by a second schedule that was conducted in Pondicherry and Puducherry in late May. G. V. Prakash Kumar wrote the film’s music, while CH Sai handled the photography and R. Kalaivanan handled the editing. Amaran is slated for global release on October 31, 2024, which falls on Diwali.
