Story:

“Sita,” a romantic comedy film released in 2019, adds a unique twist to the typical love story formula. Directed by Teja and produced by Sunkara Ramabrahmam, the film features Kajal Aggarwal in the lead role alongside Bellamkonda Sreenivas and Sonu Sood. Despite its mixed reviews upon release on May 24, 2019, the film faced a double disaster at the box office.

The narrative kicks off with the backstory of a four-year-old boy named Raghuram, left in a monastery by Anand Mohan. Anand Mohan makes a promise with the boy that Sita will come to take care of him, and in return, Raghuram pledges to care for Sita as well. Fast forward to the present, and V. Sita Mahalakshmi emerges as a successful yet arrogant businesswoman with a penchant for manipulating others for her gain.

Sita approaches MLA Basavaraju for assistance in clearing a slum from land she acquired for a mall. In exchange, Basava proposes marriage, and when refused, suggests a live-in relationship for a month. Sita agrees, but upon achieving her goal, she reneges on the deal, sparking a series of business pressures orchestrated by Basava. As her troubles mount, Sita learns of her estranged father Anand’s demise and seeks to inherit his property to settle a substantial loan.

To her dismay, she discovers that the property has been transferred to a person named Ram, residing in Bhutan. Accompanied by her friend Chakram and personal assistant Rupa, Sita travels to Bhutan to confront Ram, a person eagerly awaiting her arrival. Ram, adhering to a promise made to his uncle, agrees to return the property if Sita accompanies him without notifying the monastery.

A series of humorous incidents ensue as Sita attempts to retrieve the property from Ram. Basava, escalating his tactics, tries to arrest Sita for forgery, pushing her to escape with Ram, Chakram, and Rupa. Sita coerces Ram into signing property papers, intending to reclaim it later. Despite her manipulative tactics, Ram’s innocence and honesty persist, irritating Sita.

As the plot thickens, Sita faces legal hurdles in transferring the money, and the police intensify their pursuit. Ram’s background is unveiled, revealing his connection to Sita’s family and the circumstances that led to his presence in the monastery. Sita’s mother’s refusal to mortgage jewelry prompts Ram’s inclusion in the family, triggering a complex chain of events.

Basava’s goons attack Ram, leading to a dramatic confrontation. In a bid to save Ram, Sita agrees to Basava’s terms, but her emotions reveal a deeper connection. As Basava intensifies his attacks, Sita and Ram are injured, culminating in a tragic accident. Sita, overcome with remorse, believes she has caused Ram’s demise.

The story takes an unexpected turn when Sita learns that Ram is alive and well, revealing that the monastery misled her. In a heartwarming resolution, Sita and Ram reconcile, and their journey concludes with them distributing house papers to the slum dwellers. The film closes with a poignant scene of redemption and love prevailing against the odds.
