In the Andhra Pradesh village of Atreyapuram, Raghavaraju is a landlord who farms. Along with his wife Janakamma, their son Raju, and his nephew Bangararaju, he resides. Raghavaraju resides in the ancestral home that his forefathers constructed, where he and his family have lived together for many generations. But as times change, Ragahvaraju’s two sons, Ravi and Kalyan, and daughter, Jhansi, now reside as nuclear families in the US, Canada, and Australia, respectively. Ten years later, during the Makara Sankranti holiday, all of his children mysteriously make their way to the village after receiving an email from Raghavaraju expressing his desire to get divorced from his wife.
Jhansi’s daughter is Nithya. Raju and Nithya soon fall in love, but they keep it a secret from one another. The siblings get back together quickly. Raju and Nithya arranged for their uncle to meet with his former romantic partner. But Jhansi begs Raju not to hold out hope for Nithya’s love, and he complies, breaking Nithya’s heart.
While Janakamma wishes to remain with her children, Raghavaraju and Janakamma disclose that they will be splitting up rather than divorcing. Raghavaraju emails his kids to ask them to come home and bring their mother with them because he wants to see his wife happy. To help them appreciate the importance of family, Raju forwarded the divorce papers to an attorney. They regretted avoiding their parents after Raghavaraju’s remarks. The entire family approves of Nithya and Raju’s marriage, which is accepted by Jhansi. As Nithya declares her desire to stay with her grandparents, Raju and his parents, they all celebrate Sankranti and make a promise to return for Ugadi with their families.
