Story:

Kirik Party is an Indian Kannada-language romantic comedy film directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by G. S. Guptha and Rakshit Shetty. The film features Rakshit Shetty, Rashmika Mandanna, Samyuktha Hegde, Achyuth Kumar, Aravinnd Iyer, Dhananjay Ranjan, Chandan Achar, and Pramod Shetty in key roles. The soundtrack, consisting of ten tracks, was composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath. Rakshit Shetty developed the story and co-wrote the script with a team known as “The Seven Odds,” which includes Rishab Shetty, Abhijith Mahesh, Dhananjay Ranjan, Kiranraj K, and Chandrajith Belliappa. This film marks the acting debut of Rashmika Mandanna and Samyuktha Hegde.

The narrative centers on Karna, a freshman engineering student who falls for Saanvi, a senior at his college. A tragic event alters his outlook on life, leading him to change his ways.

This film is Rishab Shetty’s second directorial project following “Ricky” (2016). Principal photography began on April 17, 2016, at Malnad College of Engineering in Hassan and concluded in September 2016. The cinematography was handled by Karm Chawla, and Sachin Ravi was responsible for editing. The film’s music, composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, went viral upon release.

“Kirik Party” was released worldwide on December 30, 2016, to positive reviews and became one of the highest-grossing Kannada films of all time, running for 365 days in multiplexes. It won the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Family Entertainer and received seven nominations at the 64th Filmfare Awards South, winning five. The film also earned five awards at the IIFA Utsavam and seven at the 6th South Indian International Movie Awards. It was later remade in Telugu as “Kirrak Party.”
