Indian actress Samyuktha Hegde primarily appears in Tamil and Kannada films. Under Rishab Shetty’s direction, she made her acting debut in the Kannada film Kirik Party, starring opposite Rakshit Shetty. Her performance in the part of Arya earned her the Best Supporting Actress – Kannada Filmfare Award. In Comali, she made her Tamil film debut opposite Jayam Ravi and Kajal Agarwal.
She also took part in MTV Splitsvilla (2018), Bigg Boss Kannada (2017), and MTV Roadies, where she placed first runner-up.
Samyuktha was born in Bangalore, India, to a Hindu Brahmin father and a Christian mother. Kelaginamane, in the district of Uttara Kannada, is her hometown. She attended St. Paul’s English School for her education. She left Jain University in Bangalore to pursue her acting and dance career, quitting her BA in journalism and psychology.
Hegde was chosen to play a secondary female role in the comedy-drama Kirik Party, directed by Rakshit Shetty, in 2016. The producers were impressed by her Facebook page and invited her to an audition, which she later declined. The movie was a huge commercial success as well as receiving positive reviews from critics.
A reviewer for The Times of India wrote, “Samyuktha Hegde, as the bubbly Aarya, has a tough act to follow given the peppy first half and impresses by holding her own in crucial scenes,” while a reviewer for The New Indian Express felt that Hegde “outshone in the film along with the main character Karna.” Hegde received praise for her performance as Shetty’s love interest.
Hegde participated in the 2016 season of MTV Roadies, a reality television program. She claimed that her childhood dream had been to be on the show.
Hegde joined MTV Splitsvilla’s eleventh season in October 2018 as a wild card entry and finished as the season’s runner-up.
