Kantara: Chapter 1

Story:

Rishab Shetty is the writer and director of the upcoming Indian Kannada-language period mythological action thriller Kantara: Chapter 1, which is being produced by Hombale Films’ Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda. The plot explores the beginnings of the legendary tradition and ancestral strife presented in the first movie, Kantara, which was released in 2022.

The film, which is set in pre-colonial coastal Karnataka, is anticipated to delve into the legendary lore and history examined in the first film, which was released in 2022, as well as the ancient origins of the Bhuta Kola rite. The sequel, which is set during the reign of Kadambas of Banavasi, is said to continue the story of man’s interaction with nature and the divine by fusing local mythology, spirituality, and action, just like its predecessor.

In November 2023, filming got underway. On November 27, 2023, the initial teaser and appearance were made public. Rishab Shetty portrays a Naga Sadhu who possesses superhuman abilities. Kaani Studio designed the publicity poster. The background score and soundtrack were written by B. Ajaneesh Loknath. On October 2, 2025, the movie will be available in both normal and IMAX forms.
