Story:

Puri Jagannadh wrote and directed the 2012 Indian Telugu action-crime movie titled “Businessman.” The film, based on a Ram Gopal Varma concept, is directed by Mahesh Babu and features an ensemble cast that includes Kajal Aggarwal, Prakash Raj, Nassar, Sayaji Shinde, Raza Murad, Subbaraju, and Brahmaji. It is produced by R. R. Venkat under the brand of R. R. Movie Makers. In the movie, Vijay Surya, an Andhra Pradesh native with ambitions to control Mumbai due to his resentment of the nation’s corrupt political system, encounters violent opposition from both his opponents and the police officers he seems to revere.

The soundtrack for the movie was written by S. Thaman, while the cinematographer was Shyam K. Naidu. The movie officially debuted on August 15, 2011, in Hyderabad, at a budget of 40 crore. On September 2, 2011, principal photography commenced in Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Goa. In Bangkok, a few song sequences were filmed. One of the quickest production times for a Telugu movie was 74 working days, which the filming of its final scene on December 10, 2011.

The movie Businessman, which debuted on January 14, 2012, during Sankranthi, received mixed reviews from critics who commended Babu’s acting, the soundtrack, the background music, the action scenes, and the dialogue but faulted the directing, the screenplay, and the pacing. The movie finally became one of the highest-grossing Telugu movies of 2012 after earning over 90 crore and a distributor share of 40 crore. In 2013, the movie was remade in Bengali as Boss.
