Story:

Unni Sivalingam, a debutante, is the writer and director of the 2025 Indian sports action movie Balti. Alphonse Puthren and Poornima Indrajith play supporting parts in the movie, which was produced by STK Frames and Binu George Alexander Productions and starring Shane Nigam, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, and Preethi Asrani. The dialogue was in both Malayalam and Tamil because the movie was set in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. In addition, the movie was Shanthanu’s first appearance in Malayalam cinema in sixteen years.

Since it is the actor’s 25th feature in a main part, the picture was first announced in July 2024 under the provisional title Shane Nigam 25. The official title was revealed in June 2025. The main photography was done in Coimbatore, Palakkad, and Pollachi between December 2024 and March 2025. Alex J. Pulickal handled the film’s cinematography, Shivkumar V. Panicker edited it, and debutant Sai Abhyankkar created the soundtrack.

On September 26, 2025, Balti was released in theaters, and critics gave it favorable reviews. The movie did mediocrely well at the box office.

The little town of Velampalayam, on the border between Tamil Nadu and Kerala, is ruled by three strong goons. Four young kabaddi players endanger their friendships, trust, and loved ones when they become entangled in these powerplay and fraudulent operations. Soon, the emphasis switches to retaliation, in which only one individual survives.
