Annayya

Story:

“Annayya” is a 2000 Indian Telugu-language film directed by Muthyala Subbaiah and co-written by Bhupati Raja and Satyanand. The movie features a star-studded cast, including Chiranjeevi, Soundarya, Venkat, Ravi Teja, Chandni, Sishwa, Priya, and Kota Srinivasa Rao. With Mani Sharma composing the music and Chota K. Naidu handling the cinematography, the film was released on January 7, 2000. “Annayya” went on to win three state Nandi Awards and was remade in Bengali as “Devdoot” in 2005, with a Tamil dubbed version titled “Moothavan.”

The plot revolves around Rajaram, a lorry fleet owner who meets Devi, the owner of a garment factory. Their lives become intertwined when he helps Devi with a situation involving his mischievous brothers. As their relationship deepens, Rajaram seeks Devi’s consent for his brothers’ marriage to her sisters. However, her initial refusal based on his brothers’ wayward behavior leads to a transformative journey where Rajaram strives to reform his siblings. The film explores themes of love, family, sacrifice, and redemption as Rajaram’s dedication to his brothers ultimately leads to their reconciliation and a series of weddings, including his own with Devi.
