Tom Holland

Biography:

Actor Thomas Stanley Holland was born in England on June 1, 1996. He was listed on Forbes’ 2019 30 Under 30 Europe list and has received multiple honors, including a BAFTA Award. He is regarded by certain newspapers as one of the most well-liked actors of his time.

Holland took a dancing class when he was nine years old, which marked the beginning of his career. He was spotted by a choreographer, who set him up to try out for a part in Billy Elliot the Musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London. He trained for two years before landing a supporting role in 2008. He was promoted to the title role later that year, a position he held until 2010. Holland drew praise from critics and was nominated for a Goya Award for Best New Actor for his role as a teenage tourist stranded in a tsunami in the catastrophe drama The Impossible (2012).

After that, Holland made the decision to make acting his full-time career. He starred in How I Live Now (2013) and portrayed historical personalities in the TV miniseries Wolf Hall (2015) and the movie In the Heart of the Sea (2015).

Playing Peter Parker/Spider-Man in six superhero movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), starting with Captain America: Civil War (2016), Holland gained widespread acclaim. Holland became the youngest actor to portray a title role in an MCU movie the following year when he starred in Spider-Man: Homecoming and won the BAFTA Rising Star Award. Each of its follow-ups, Far From Home (2019) and No Way Home (2021), brought in over $1 billion globally, with the latter becoming the year’s highest-grossing movie.

Holland extended to play against-type characters in the crime dramas The Devil All the Time (2020) and Cherry (2021), in addition to playing another action movie role in Uncharted (2022). Holland has also voiced characters in animated films such as Spies in Disguise (2019) and Onward (2020), and directed the short film Tweet (2015).
