Taylor Kinney

Biography:

Taylor Jackson Kinney (born January 15, 1981) is an American actor and model recognized for his roles in both television and film. He portrayed Jared in Zero Dark Thirty, Phil in The Other Woman, and Lieutenant Kelly Severide of the Chicago Fire Department in the drama series Chicago Fire. He also appeared as Craig, one of Fiona’s romantic interests, in Shameless.

Kinney was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He graduated in 2000 from Lancaster Mennonite School and later pursued Business Management studies at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia.

In 2006, he played Luke Gianni in the television series Fashion House on MyNetworkTV and later portrayed Glenn Morrison in NBC’s medical drama Trauma. He joined the cast of the supernatural series The Vampire Diaries during its second season, taking on the recurring role of Mason Lockwood. In 2011, Kinney appeared in Lady Gaga’s music video for the song “You and I.”

His major breakthrough came in 2012 when he secured a leading role in Chicago Fire, a drama centered on firefighters and paramedics. He plays Lieutenant Kelly Severide on Rescue Squad 3 alongside Jesse Spencer. That same year, he appeared in Kathryn Bigelow’s critically acclaimed war film Zero Dark Thirty and guest-starred on Shameless as Craig, a former high school crush of Fiona, portrayed by Emmy Rossum.

Kinney began a relationship with singer-songwriter Lady Gaga in July 2011 after meeting her in Nebraska while filming the “You and I” music video. The couple got engaged in February 2015 but ended their engagement in July 2016.
