Biography:
Indian director Manish Saini specializes in Gujarati-language movies. His first film, Dhh (2017), won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Gujarati at the 65th National Film Awards, making him a well-known director. The movie tells the tale of three schoolchildren who start to think that a magician who has moved to the city might magically solve their problems.[1] In addition to being a part of the Toronto International Film Festival Kids, the movie starring Naseeruddin Shah was distributed by Viacom18.
Manish attended school in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, but was born in Haryana. He attended Ahmedabad’s National Institute of Design. Manish began writing a script and approached producers to secure funding for his endeavor after finishing his studies. He chose to borrow money from his friends and family in order to make his own directed film, Dhh, after receiving numerous rejections. The movie won the 2018 National Award for Best Gujarati Film. Gandhi & Co., his second film, was chosen for screening in the Czech Republic after winning the Best Children Film award at the 2022 International Gujarati Film Festival (IGFF).
