Tanvi Azmi is an Indian actress who works in both television and movies. She is well-known for her parts in Tribhanga (2021), Thappad (2020), Bajirao Mastani (2015), and Akele Hum Akele Tum (1995).
Her parents are Manohar Kher and Marathi-Hindi actress Usha Kiran. Azmi played a young widow in Vijaya Mehta’s 1986 telefilm Rao Saheb and a disturbed doctor in the teleseries Jeevanrekha. Additionally, she starred in Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s 1993 Malayalam film Vidheyan.
Her role in the drama Pyari Behna (1985) earned her her first nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. She was nominated for a second Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress after receiving praise from critics for her supporting performance in the love drama Akele Hum Akele Tum (1995), which starred Aamir Khan and Manisha Koirala.
She received a third nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as psychologist Dr. Poornima Sehgal in the psychological thriller Dushman (1998), which starred Kajol and Sanjay Dutt.
