T. G. Ravi

Biography:

Born on May 16, 1944, T. G. Ravindranathan, also referred to as T. G. Ravi, is an Indian actor best known for playing antagonists in Malayalam films. In the 1970s and 1980s, he and Balan K. Nair portrayed the majority of the antagonists in Malayalam films. He portrayed some of the most prominent antagonists in Malayalam film at the time, and he was well-known for his body language and dialogue delivery.

In Moorkanikkara village, Thrissur, in modern-day Kerala, India, on May 16, 1944, T.G. Ravi was born into an Ezhuthachan family. He decided to pursue a career in engineering after completing his pre-degree at St. Thomas College in Thrissur, and he enrolled at the University of Kerala’s Government Engineering College in Thrissur to complete his degree program.

In 1969, he received his degree in mechanical engineering. In addition to his involvement in theater, he played hockey and football for the University of Kerala. He met Thikkodiyan while working as an artist at The All India Radio, and it was Thikkodiyan who helped introduce him to the movie industry.

He is a well-known businessman who has played a significant role in making Thrissur a key hub for the rubber sector. He serves as Suntec Tyres Limited’s managing director. Additionally, he has held the position of president of the Cochin Devaswom Board, which oversees the operations of more than 400 temples in the districts of Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Palakkad.

He was married to retired government employee Dr. V. K. Subhadra, who passed away. He has two children: Sreejith Ravi, an actor in Malayalam films, and Ranjith, a graduate of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and London Business School. His daughters-in-law are Seema and Sajitha. His granddaughter is Minal, and his grandchildren are Milit, Rijrashwa, Mitul, and Ritunjay. T. G. Ravi served as the All Kerala Ezhuthachan Samajam’s president.
