Indian musician Sweekar Agasthi is a composer, guitarist, audio engineer, and playback singer who specializes in Telugu music. His compositions for the score and soundtrack of C/O Kancharapalem (2018) and Middle Class Melodies (2020) are his most well-known works. He is wed to Lahari Pithani, an architect, who comes from the Andhra Pradesh family of politician Pithani Sathyanarayana.
Sweekar was born into a Telugu-speaking household in Vijayawada, India. He began his professional career with the band Niraval as a vocalist. He began playing back vocals in 2014, starting with the song “2010 Summerlo” from the movie Doosukeltha. He was an audio engineer before he made his playback singing debut. 2018’s C/o Kancharapalem was his breakout picture. “Sweekar Agasthi’s music stayed with me long after the film was over,” said Sangeetha Devi Dundoo of The Hindu. The song “Asha Pasham” from the movie’s soundtrack was well-received.
