Surabhi Santosh

Biography:

Surabhi Santosh is an Indian actress, model, classical dancer, and lawyer known for her work primarily in Kannada and Malayalam cinema. She made her film debut in 2011 with the movie “Dushtaa,” directed by S Narayan. Born in Trivandrum to Malayali parents Sindhu and Santosh Kumar, a former Colonel in the Indian Army, she attended various schools across the country. Surabhi is a graduate in B.A., LL.B (Law), a Bharatanatyam dancer, and plays the veena. She currently lives in Bengaluru. Despite sharing a name with two other active South Indian actresses, Surbhi and Surabhi Lakshmi, she chose to keep her birth name as a tribute to her parents.

Surabhi began her acting career in S. Narayan’s film “Dushtaa,” starring opposite Pankaj. She later appeared in another Kannada film, “Jataayu,” in 2013. In 2017, her long-delayed Tamil film “Aayirathil Iruvar” by Saran was released, where she was named Swasthika by the director. After a three-year break to complete her graduate degree, she returned to acting with the Kannada film “2nd Half,” receiving praise for her role. Surabhi made her Malayalam debut in 2018 with “Kuttanadan Marpappa” and received acclaim for her performance in the fantasy-horror film “Kinavalli.”

In 2019, Surabhi appeared in the Malayalam films “An International Local Story” directed by Harisree Ashokan and “My Great Grandfather” alongside Jayaram. She also had a cameo role in “Margamkali” and starred in “Happy Sardar” alongside Kalidas Jayaram, with whom she had previously worked in “Kuttanadan Marpappa.”
