Biography:
British film and television director, producer, and screenwriter Steven Knight was born on August 5, 1959. In addition to writing and directing Locke, Hummingbird (also known as Redemption), and Serenity, he also authored the screenplays for Closed Circuit, Dirty Pretty Things, and Eastern Promises. It was revealed in July 2025 that he would write the script for Denis Villeneuve’s 26th official James Bond movie. Knight is one of the three inventors of the game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, which has been remade and broadcast in around 160 countries. The BBC shows Peaky Blinders, The Detectives, SAS: Rogue Heroes, A Thousand Blows, and House of Guinness were all created by him. Additionally, he has written for Taboo, See, and Commercial Breakdown.
