Biography:

Soubin Shahir is a versatile Indian actor and director known for his work in Malayalam cinema. Born and raised in Fort Kochi, Kerala, he was immersed in the world of films from a young age, with his father being involved in the industry as an assistant director and production controller.

Soubin began his career in the film industry as an assistant director, learning from and working under several acclaimed directors such as Fazil, Siddique, and Santhosh Sivan. His journey as an actor started with a supporting role in the film “Annayum Rasoolum” in 2013. However, it was his role in Alphonse Putharen’s “Premam” (2015) that catapulted him to fame, earning him widespread recognition.

Over the years, Soubin has delivered stellar performances in numerous films, including “Charlie” (2015), “Maheshinte Prathikaaram” (2016), “Kali” (2016), and “Kumbalangi Nights” (2019). His portrayal of the lead character in “Sudani from Nigeria” (2018) earned him critical acclaim and the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor.

In addition to acting, Soubin has also ventured into directing, making his directorial debut with the film “Parava” in 2017. Beyond his professional achievements, Soubin enjoys a happy personal life with his wife, Jamia Zaheer, a marketing professional, and their son.
