Originally from Bengaluru, Sindhu Sreenivasa Murthy is a multifaceted artist – a writer, director, and actor who embarked on her creative journey in theatre at the young age of 16.
Her initiation into the world of cinema occurred with a role in the Netflix Original feature “Brahman Naman,” showcased at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.
Sindhu’s directorial prowess extends to the documentary series “Jeevalahari,” commissioned by Doordarshan and shot during the pandemic with a minimal crew.
Currently, she is immersed in her next Kannada feature film, “13 Days,” recognized at the SWA Script Lab 2022 and selected for the ‘South Bridge’ accelerator program.
An advocate for gender equality in the film industry, Sindhu’s film “Aachar & Co.,” released in July 2023, marks a milestone as the first Kannada film with a predominantly female crew, championing equal pay and opportunities.
