Ruth Jones

Biography:

Actress, comedian, writer, and producer Ruth Alexandra Elizabeth Jones was born in Wales on September 22, 1966. She co-starred in and co-wrote the highly regarded BBC sitcom Gavin & Stacey (2007–2010, 2019, 2024), for which she was awarded the 2025 BAFTA Award for Best Female Comedy Performance. In addition, she co-wrote and performed in the comedy-drama Stella on Sky One (2012–2017), for which she received nominations for both the BAFTA Cymru Award for Best Screenwriter and the BAFTA Award for Best Female Comedy Performance.

Fat Friends (2000–2005), Little Britain (2003–2007), Nighty Night (2004–2005), Saxondale (2006–2007), Little Dorrit (2008), and The Street (2009) are just a few of the television shows in which Jones has made appearances.In recognition of his contributions to entertainment, Jones was named a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2014 New Year’s Honours.
