The inception of JAM8 was officially announced by Pritam on April 9, 2016, through a Twitter post. In this announcement, he introduced J.A.M 8 (Just About Music) alongside Kaushik-Akash, who marked the beginning as the first artists on his A&R Music Production platform. JAM8’s initial venture into mainstream Indian music materialized with the release of the 1920 London soundtrack in 2016.

Subsequently, they contributed as composers for the soundtrack of the 2017 film “Raees,” with their composition “Zaalima” gaining widespread acclaim. Their journey in Bollywood continued, encompassing projects such as “Behen Hogi Teri,” “Raabta,” “Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana,” “Race 3,” “Loveratri,” as well as recent films like “14 Phere” and “Helmet”.

Additionally, they made contributions to Telugu film “Touch Chesi Chudu” and Bengali films like “Crisscross” and “Villain.” A significant milestone for JAM8 occurred in June 2022 when they unveiled their inaugural non-soundtrack album, titled “Roposo JamRoom.” This release was a collaborative effort involving 19 Indian background singers and 12 selected composers who were mentored by Pritam.
