Pala Karuppiah, also known as Chinna Karuppiah, is a versatile figure in India, being involved in politics, film production, acting, and writing. He served as a member of the 14th Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, representing the Harbour constituency in Chennai District. His acting career began with the movie “Angadi Theru,” and he has authored several works like “Pattinathaar Oru Paarvai,” “Arasiyal Sadhirattangal,” and more.
However, his political journey had its ups and downs. In January 2016, Pala was expelled from AIADMK by J. Jayalalithaa, the party’s general secretary, on grounds of going against party ideology and tarnishing its reputation. In response, Pala resigned from his assembly position, and his residence was targeted by unidentified attackers. He subsequently accused the AIADMK government of corruption in a media interaction.
