Morgan Davies

Biography:

Morgan Davies (born November 27, 2001) is an Australian actor best known for his roles in Evil Dead Rise (2023) and Netflix’s One Piece (2023–present).

He was raised in Rozelle, a suburb of Sydney, by a single mother. Davies has become a vocal advocate for transgender rights and has openly shared his experiences with depression during his teenage years, as well as struggles with stage fright. He came out as transgender to close friends and family at 13, but did not publicly share this until 2020.

Davies began acting at just seven years old, appearing as Brittany in the 2008 film Green Fire Envy. His breakthrough came with the 2010 Australian-French film The Tree, where he played Simone opposite Charlotte Gainsbourg. The film was selected as the closing feature at the Cannes Film Festival and earned him nominations from the Australian Film Institute. In 2011, he appeared in The Hunter, starring Willem Dafoe, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.

He also featured in the Steven Spielberg-produced TV series Terra Nova (2011) and later starred in and assisted in directing the short film The Boyfriend Game (2015). In 2019, he played Madeline in the Australian film Storm Boy, alongside Geoffrey Rush and Jai Courtney.

In 2020, Davies starred in the series The End as Oberon, a transgender teenager undergoing gender transition. Although he initially declined the role due to personal uncertainty about his own identity, he later chose to take it on.

In 2023, he took on a major role in Evil Dead Rise, portraying Danny, one of the central teenage characters in the film. He also plays Koby in Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece (2023) and continues the role in its second season released in 2026.
