Copenhagen, Denmark is home to the Danish manufacturer Marta. Working as a programming assistant at the renowned documentary film festival CPH:DOX was her first experience in the film industry. Marta was soon employed as a Producer’s Assistant at Nordisk Film Productions, where she started making short films. Her first feature film, Christian Tafdrup’s A HORRIBLE WOMAN, was a box office hit in Denmark and won two Danish Academy Awards and one Danish Critics Award in early 2018.
Marta joined Profile Pictures in late 2017 after working for Nordisk Film for four years. Since then, she has produced a number of films, including a feature film (DARKLAND THE RETURN, 2023) and two TV series for Danish broadcaster TV 2 (SEX, 2020 and SMALL CLAIMS COURT, 2021).
Marta has participated in the EAVE Producers Workshop throughout 2024. While working as a delegate producer on a crime series for Netflix Nordic at Profile Pictures, Marta and her partner Matilda Appelin recently founded their own independent production business, New Day.
