Mahat Raghavendra is an Indian actor known for his appearances in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi cinema. He gained prominence for his supporting roles in films like the heist thriller “Mankatha” (2011), the action drama “Jilla” (2014), and as a lead in “Double XL” (2022).
After completing his studies at Hindustan College of Arts and Science, Raghavendra ventured into the world of cinema. Before his full-fledged acting debut, he was seen as a background artist in movies such as “Vallavan” (2006) and “Kaalai” (2008), both featuring his childhood friend Silambarasan. His initial debut plans for a Tamil remake of the Telugu film “Ullasamga Utsahamga” (2008) were dropped. However, his breakthrough came with Venkat Prabhu’s “Mankatha” (2011), where he portrayed a Dharavi bar owner. The film received critical acclaim, and Raghavendra’s performance earned him the Best Male Debut Actor award from the Edison Awards committee.
Raghavendra’s first lead role was in the Telugu film “Backbench Student” (2013), and he appeared in other projects like “Bunny n Cherry” (2013) and “Jilla” (2014), where he shared the screen with established actors like Mohanlal and Vijay. He continued to work in both Tamil and Telugu films, participating in projects of various budgets. Notably, he appeared in Simbu and Megha Akash-starrer “Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven” (2019).
In his personal life, Raghavendra completed his schooling from Zion Matriculation School and graduated from Hindustan College of Arts & Science. He comes from a family with academic and professional achievements. Raghavendra’s relationship with actress and former Miss India 2012, Prachi Mishra, garnered attention. They got engaged in April 2019 and tied the knot on February 1, 2020. The couple welcomed their son Adiyaman Raghavendra on June 7, 2021.
