Shaji John, widely recognized by his stage name Kalabhavan Shajohn, is an Indian actor, director, and comedian primarily working in Malayalam cinema. He began his career as a mimicry artist at Kalabhavan, Kochi, and made his acting debut in My Dear Karadi (1999). Over the years, he has appeared in more than 130 Malayalam films, with a significant breakthrough in Drishyam (2013), where he portrayed a negative role. Shajohn ventured into directing with his debut film Brother’s Day, starring Prithviraj.
Born in Varissery, Kottayam, Kerala, Shajohn is the son of E. J. John, a retired ASI, and Rejina, a retired nurse. He completed his education at St. Mary’s College, Manarcaud. His brother, Shibu John, is also a mimicry artist and serves as a radio RJ for Voice of Kerala.
Shajohn married Dini on 28 October 2004, and the couple has two children: a daughter, Hanna, and a son, Yohan.
