Justin Prabhakaran is an Indian film score and soundtrack composer who was born on June 10, 1986. In addition to one Hindi film, he has composed music primarily for Tamil films as well as a few Malayalam and Telugu ones. His first movie score was for the 2014 Tamil film Pannaiyarum Padminiyum.
Madurai was the place where Prabhakaran was born. Music always sparked his curiosity. Early on, he was exposed to church music and prepared to play the keyboard. He took part in a TV programme and received the prize for his original composition. He can play the keyboard and guitar well. In 2003–2006, while pursuing a B.Sc. in Zoology at the American College in Madurai, he met cinematographer Gopi Krishna, who suggested that he pursue a sound engineering degree at the M.G.R. Government Film and Television Training Institute, Tharamani, Chennai.
Every year while he was a student at the M.G.R. Film & TV Institute, Prabhakaran created a brand-new composition for the Tamil thendral. He collaborated with Harris Jayaraj, a music composer, on the Thuppakki film. Later, he wrote the music for more than 55 short films as well as numerous well-known films in the languages of Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi.
