Jo Yu-ri

Biography:

Jo Yu-ri , born on October 22, 2001, is a South Korean singer and actress, best known as a former member of the South Korean–Japanese girl group IzOne. She rose to fame after participating in the 2018 reality competition series Produce 48, where she finished in third place and debuted with IzOne on October 29, 2018.

After Iz*One’s disbandment in April 2021, Jo embarked on a solo career, releasing her debut single album Glassy in October 2021. The album earned her several nominations for Rookie of the Year at major music awards. In addition to her music career, Jo ventured into acting, making her acting debut in the 2022 web series Mimicus and securing a main role in the second season of Squid Game (2024/2025).

Jo’s early career also included participation in Mnet’s Idol School in 2017, where she placed 15th. Although she didn’t make the final group, her participation helped her gain attention, which led to her success in Produce 48 and the formation of Iz*One.

In addition to her group and solo music activities, Jo contributed to soundtracks for various dramas, including Do You Like Brahms? (2020), Monthly Magazine Home (2021), The Law Cafe (2022), and The Fabulous (2022). She also gained recognition for her appearance in Work Later, Drink Now 2 (2022), where her acting performance as a juvenile delinquent received praise from critics.

Jo continues to expand her musical and acting career, with releases like the extended plays Op.22 Y-Waltz: in Major (2022) and Love All (2023), alongside singles like Down (Juicy Juicy) for See You in My 19th Life (2023) and Luv Luv Luv with Zerobaseone’s Sung Han-bin for My Lovely Liar (2023). She was also involved in the promotional single Yellow Circle with actress Chae Soo-bin in 2023.
